How to Make Festive & Affordable Patriotic Sugar Cookies

Just because we are stuck at home, doesn’t mean we can’t be festive! Lighten up your mood with these deliciously festive Patriotic Sugar Cookies with super affordable ingredients!

Are you gluten-free? No problem! We eat gluten-free in our house and we swear by King Arthur Gluten-Free Measure for Measure Flour. You can use it in place of regular all-purpose flour to make all of your favorite baked goods gluten-free!

Patriotic Sugar Cookies

What you will need:

• 2 Sticks Butter (Room Temperature)
• 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
• 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
• 1 Egg
• 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
• 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
• Sprinkles

How to make:

1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. In the mixing bowl, mix butter, egg, vanilla, and sugar together until smooth.

3. In a separate bowl combine baking powder with the flour and then add a little at a time to the wet ingredients. The dough will be stiff.

4. DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH. Scoop into tablespoon-sized balls and place on a nonstick pan.

5. Slightly flatten each ball with a spoon/spatula.
6. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.

7. Remove from the oven and place sprinkles on the cookies. They should stick due to the cookies being warm.

8. Let the cookies cool on the pan until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.
9. Serve & enjoy!
